Ajahn Brahm gives a simple but profound talk on how to stop taking ourselves so seriously, stop getting dragged down in negativity, stop worrying about fixing problems, stop measuring and controlling, stop putting ourselves in prisons, and simply putting things down to find contentment right where we are, the only place where beauty and joy can unfold.
This is part of a series of teachings for a retreat led by Ajahn Brahm & Ajahn Canda in the UK on 23rd June 2025.

Many years ago, when Ajahn Brahm was a student at University of Cambridge, he observed highly intellectual people behaving unwisely. This experience led him to question the meaning of life, success, and happiness. Seeking fulfillment beyond academia, he set out on a journey to discover true happiness. Today, Ajahn Brahm teaches the sources of genuine joy and contentment.
